 The Discovery of Faith

Faith can be a tremendous resource in facing any crisis, but finding it can be difficult. The deepest faith is more than just belief. We need to understand what faith is, how it helps us, and how we can discover it.
 

This book explores the meaning of faith and how we find it. Looking at the connection between Jewish and Christian tradition reveals an understanding of faith going far beyond the popular notion of faith as belief in something. Faith is more than belief. It is the awareness of life’s eternal dimension; the sense that a power and wisdom greater than ourselves actually does influence our lives. Acquiring this awareness provides tremendous inner strength, even if we have had difficulty with traditional belief.
 

The book contains examples from my experience as a hospice music therapist, showing how people’s faith has worked for them under the most challenging circumstances.
